چکیده

Acute diarrheal illness is a serious public health issue in developing and developed economies, with high morbidity mortality rates. Children below five years are the most vulnerable, one every six dying from diarrhea. Diarrhea may be caused by various viruses, protozoa, bacteria. Rotavirus, particular, often associated diarrhea children. Early detection of rotavirus infection reduces need for medication spread virus helps determine optimal treatment strategies. In this study, we compared efficacy rapid immunochromatography technique (ICT) that enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to detect antigens stool samples. Overall, 361 samples were obtained hospitalized children under five-years-old, acute watery symptoms tested both ICT ELISA. Among these samples, 104 (28.81%) positive 109 (30.19%) Furthermore, specificity sensitivity assessed using ELISA, gold standard test. had 95.41% 100% specificity. Thus, during emergency testing, utilized as an alternative test quick diagnosis patients

Detection of Adnovirus in children less than 5 years old with acute gastroenteritis (AGE) from Bogota, Colombia.

Acute gastroenteritis (AGE) has a great impact on children less than five years of age, producing high levels of morbidity and mortality. Worldwide, AGE is mainly related to viruses, mainly rotavirus but human adenovirus (HAdV) in particular as an important etiologic agent. Among HAdV species F, genotypes 40 and 41 are responsible for a high number of diarrhea cases, mainly in children under 2 ...
